| Abstract: | The present invention relates to a geopolymer mortar and to a method for obtaining such a mortar from mine tailings, which is straightforward and easy to carry out, without the addition of any other known binder (Portland cement or fly ash) and which has good mechanical properties under compression. The incorporation of a single hardening component (sodium hydroxide) is consistent with the aim of avoiding "additional variables" that increase the complexity of the process for manufacturing geopolymer mortars.
